Why we exist
Venture Cup Sverige is a non-profit association. Our purpose is not to make money, but to make sure that more good ideas in Sweden actually become companies.
Our mission
We exist so that more business ideas become real companies. Venture Cup Sverige gives people across the country, regardless of background, university or industry, a free and accessible path from idea to business through competitions, qualified expert feedback, education, mentorship and networks.
Our vision
A Sweden where every good idea gets a chance to be tested. Where tomorrow's entrepreneurs have the knowledge, the contacts and the courage it takes to build companies that create jobs, growth and solutions to society's challenges, and where the road there is equally open wherever in the country you live.
Our values
Competition
The competition format provides a deadline, a structure and an audience. It forces what otherwise never gets done: putting the idea into words, testing it, and presenting it to someone who can push back.
Network
Experienced entrepreneurs, investors, industry experts and academics volunteer with us. We open that network up to every participant, not only to the winners.
Inspiration
Our events bring thousands of people together every year. Seeing others succeed and hearing how they actually did it is often what makes someone dare to take the first step.
Development
Workshops, courses, coaching and written jury feedback on every entry. Everyone who takes part should leave with something they can use, no matter how they placed.
How we put the mission into practice
- Two competitions with different thresholds: IDEA for those with an idea, VENTURECUP for those who have come further.
- Written feedback on every entry from business developers, investors and industry experts.
- Education and workshops together with universities and partners.
- Regional heats and a national final that make the programme accessible across all of Sweden.
- Mentorship and networks that carry on long after the competition is decided.
Since the start in 1998, more than 18,000 business ideas have competed with us, and around 30 percent of those ideas have turned into businesses.
